DG Cooler Reset: Dairy & Deli 1/26/26

Every year, Dollar General completes a cooler reset in the dairy and deli sections. During this reset, certain refrigerated items are discontinued. When that happens, and if the products are not removed from the sales floor in time, they can penny out—meaning they ring up for $0.01 at the register.

🧊 Dairy & Deli Cooler Reset Timeline

The 2026 dairy and deli reset is scheduled to begin Monday, January 26th and will continue for four consecutive Mondays:

  • Week 1: Monday, January 26th

  • Week 2: Monday, February 2nd

  • Week 3: Monday, February 9th

  • Week 4: Monday, February 16th

This reset happens on a rotation, not all at once. That means:

  • Some stores may penny items the first week

  • Other stores may not penny until week 2, 3, or even week 4

  • If your local store doesn’t penny on the first Monday, keep checking every Monday during the reset period

A few important things to keep in mind:

  • Expired items do not have to be sold

  • Recalled items will not be sold

  • Penny items are never guaranteed and vary by store and timing

As always, scan items to verify pricing and remember that availability depends entirely on whether the store removed the discontinued products in time.

This dairy and deli reset is one of the most anticipated penny events of the year—so stay alert, check those coolers, and happy hunting! 🛒✨
